The pieces on this, my third album, are mostly short with the melodic and lyrical content being very important. They are meant to be descriptive and personal. I experimented quite a bit with the idea of a “make believe” orchestra for the arrangements relying as I usually do on a variety of tape based mellotrons and samples. I found myself immersed in the memories of distant music piping through the radio of my parents car as we drove to the store and to the soundtracks to television shows I watched as a boy. I have several guests I need to thank- Chuck Bernklau plays bass on one song and took the photo for the back cover, Rudy Perrone takes a beautiful guitar solo. Mattias Olsson once again plays the drums and in our ever deepening musical rapport has added textures from all sorts of devices……all amazing, delightful surprises. Kristin Slipp’s fantastic voice creates a narrative for my thoughts and she also contributed a great deal of vocal harmonic content. So thankful and happy to have worked with her on this. I am very, very glad to share this new album with all of you, my friends.
